POLICE have seized a large amount of cannabis after a raid on an open house in Dudley.

Officers from West Midlands Police Cannabis Disposal Team discovered a large quantity of the drug yesterday (June 22) afternoon at an unlocked property in Churchfield Street.

Inside the address, officers found and seized 167 cannabis plants from the basement, two bedrooms and a loft which had been converted for cultivation.

Cannabis Team’s twitter page – @ CDTWMP – posted a picture from the scene with the caption: “If only all #cannabis farms were as easy to find as this! #Dudley house with the front door open with this upstairs!”

The door to the property was wide open and nobody was in the house when a patrolling officer found the plants at 4.23pm.

No persons have so far been arrested in relation to the 'discovery'.
