A 'LADIES only' gym in Dudley has been shortlisted for a fitness industry award - for the second year running - after flexing its muscles against similar businesses across the country.

Unique Fitness 4 Ladies Only, in Castle Hill, is one of up to seven finalists in its sector chosen from hundreds of entries.

It is shortlisted in the 'Ladies Only Gym of the Year' in the National Fitness Awards, organised by Workout magazine and sponsored by ServiceSport.

The gym will now be visited by a member of the awards team, who will look around the facilities, interview the manager and chat to members and staff before compiling a report for a judging panel.

Winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony at The Athena in Leicester on December 4, hosted by fitness entrepreneur and TV personality Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Olympic swimmer and commentator Steve Parry.

The Dudley gym's manager Raj Kaur said: "It's been a fantastic year and to top it off this is a huge honour for us to be shortlisted for the second time running.

"A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes. We keep up to date with the latest trends in the fitness industry and always try to provide exciting new ways for our members to get and stay fit and, most of all, stay motivated."
