A DUDLEY charity is urgently seeking volunteer drivers to help give older people a chance to enjoy day trips out and about.
Following Age UK Dudley’s take-over of Age Concern Sedgley – the organisation’s Daybreak Service is looking to recruit extra volunteer drivers to help meet demand for the service which offers older residents, who still live at home, the chance to visit places of interest locally and further afield.
The outings aim to give those who retain a sense of adventure the chance to enjoy days out and companionship.
Brian Phillips, senior manager at Age UK Dudley, said: “The service totally depends on our team of dedicated volunteer drivers and escorts who do so much to makes the lives of our clients so much more fulfilling.”
Previous experience is advantageous but not essential as all training will be provided.
Anyone interested in volunteering can call Jenny Bates or Brian Rudd on 01384 340608.
