VOTERS in two Dudley borough wards are being reminded to make their way to the polls when they open on Thursday (February 25).

Two by-elections have been called by Dudley Council, one in St James’s and the other in Kingswinford North and Wall Heath.

Poll cards have been delivered to the 12,000 homes in the wards detailing information on people’s nearest polling station, which will be open from 7am until 10pm, and how to vote.

The by-elections come following the death of Councillor Mary Roberts – who represented St James’s – in November last year, after serving the ward for eight years.

Natalie Neal stood down from her position as councillor for Kingswinford North and Wall Heath just before Christmas, citing personal reasons.

Sarah Norman, Dudley Council’s chief executive and elections returning officer, said: “The by-elections are an important opportunity for people in St James's and in Kingswinford North and Wall Heath to have their say on how Dudley Council and local services are run.”

A dedicated web page has been set up where people can find useful information on their nearest polling stations as well as the candidates representing the various political parties.
