BOROUGH education chiefs are celebrating after adult learning services in Dudley received a glowing report from Ofsted.

Inspectors visited in March and found services overall were good with areas of excellence.

The inspectors said managers and tutors were working effectively to provide learning opportunities for priority groups of learners and that a wide range of courses are available including options for people to gain recognised qualifications.

Alan Lunt, strategic director for the place directorate at Dudley Council, said: “We’re pleased our hard work has been recognised in this way. It shows people flourish through the range of courses offered through the service.

“We are committed to offering a good, wide variety of learning opportunities for people not just to help them learn and gain qualifications but also to learn new skills for employment.”

The council runs hundreds of adult learner courses including leisure classes in art and craft and health and well-being plus academic courses including IT, English and maths - through to the vocational courses in accounting and construction.
