THE Dudley Group is seeking enthusiastic and passionate people to join its team of dedicated volunteers.

A Volunteer Open Day is set to take place at Russells Hall Hospital, which is run by the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, on Friday November 11 for people to find out more.

The event, being hosted by the Dudley Group's chief operating officer Paul Bytheway, starts at starts at 10am in the lecture theatre at the hospital and aims to give those attending chance to speak to some of the Trust’s 400 volunteers and hear from members of staff about the important input volunteers make to patient experience.

Mr Bytheway said: “Our volunteers generously give up their own time for us and the help they offer in many different areas across the Trust really is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

“Anyone over the age of 16 who would like to make a difference in Dudley can apply to become a volunteer at the Trust, whether they can spare a few hours a week around existing commitments or want to give their time more regularly, we’d love to hear from them.”

Volunteers help out in a variety of ways from providing hot drinks and helping out at meal times to making sure patients can find their way to appointments.

Anyone interested in volunteering or finding out more is invited to book a place at the open day by calling 01384 456111 extension 1064 or emailing communications@dgh.nhs.uk
