A TODDLER has been taken to hospital after her pushchair was reportedly hit by a lorry in Dudley this afternoon (Monday November 20).

The incident happened near to Cousins furniture store on the A461 Duncan Edwards Way just after 2.30pm.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said an ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene and she added: “When the ambulance crew arrived, they found a woman with her two-year-old daughter who had reportedly been involved in a collision with a lorry.

“The woman told crews her daughter, who was strapped into a pushchair at the time, had initially been unresponsive but was alert and understandably distressed when ambulance staff arrived.

"They assessed the girl in the back of the ambulance and found she had sustained a bump to her head.

"Whilst ambulance staff found no other apparent injuries, they took the decision to convey the girl to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with her mum for further checks due to the nature of the collision.”
