A TEENAGED Dudley drug dealer caught with more than £4,200 worth of crack cocaine and heroin has been sent to a Young Offender Institution for three years.
Shane Brewster was arrested when police swooped on a flat in Lye High Street and he was wearing a "manbag" containing wraps of the class A drugs worth £1,600 together with associated paraphernalia.
Then, when the property was searched, officers found another stash of heroin and crack cocaine - Howard Searle, prosecuting, told Wolverhampton Crown Court.
He said the total value of the heroin recovered from the 18-year-old was £2,300 while the crack cocaine was worth £1,840.
The officers also found dealer's lists inside the flat, digital scales and messages on a mobile telephone that linked Brewster to drug dealing in the area.
Brewster, of Highland Road , Dudley, admitted two charges of possessing the class A drugs with intent to supply and Recorder Michelle Heeley QC told him the only appropriate sentence was immediate custody.
Nicole Steers, defending, told the court Brewster knew there was a hiding place inside the property and he thought he was taking cannabis.
But when he realised it was heroin and crack cocaine, she went on, he made the decision to sell the drugs himself.
"He did not set out to deal in class A drugs," she concluded.
