RESIDENTS and businesses are being asked to discuss ongoing major plans to breathe new life into an area of Dudley town centre.

Dudley Council has organised a drop in session to take place next month to discuss proposals for Wolverhampton Street and Inhedge Park.

The council has been tackling a number of issues along Wolverhampton Street, including housing and waste enforcement issues, buying a derelict site to build new homes and, in October the authority asked for the views of residents and people who work in the area about how they saw the future for their community.

Alan Lunt, Dudley's strategic director of place, said: “These proposals form part of the transformation of Dudley, bringing in millions of pounds of investment and creating jobs.

"We have submitted a bid to the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership which, if approved, will include work in Wolverhampton Street and the Inhedge Park area.

"In October we asked residents and businesses in the area for their views about the proposals and now this event is an opportunity for people find out what developments have taken place and the future plans.

“We want everyone, who lives or uses the area, to get involved, and attendance at the event will enable us to further develop ideas and views into any future plans, and discuss actions already taken.”

The drop in event will take place at the DY1 Community Building on Stafford Street on Tuesday April 17, from 4pm.

Anyone wishing to be more involved in the process can attend a group discussion between 6pm and 8pm.
