A LOWER Gornal man is to face trial after the owner of a truck was dragged along a road and left with serious injuries.
Officers launched an investigation after a 48-year-old man was injured in a collision on Bird Street, Dudley, just after 2.30pm on March 25.
Chase Thomas Edwards, aged 30, was arrested at his home address in Sudeley Gardens and appeared Dudley Magistrates Court charged with wounding, robbery, driving whilst disqualified and theft of a motor vehicle.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday July 9 when he will face accusations that he stole a fruit-laden pick up truck.
The owner of the truck chased the alleged thief and was dragged along the road for several hundred metres before letting go.
The victim continues to receive medical treatment for severe leg injuries.
