BLACK Country author Miranda Dickinson is inviting chick fans to join her for a library-based 'girls' night in' next week.

The best-selling romantic novelist, who was educated in Stourbridge and now lives in Lower Gornal, will be meeting and chatting to readers at Perton Library, Perton, near Wolverhampton, on Wednesday February 11 from 7.30pm until late.

As well as a talk from Miranda - the evening will include a fundraising raffle and all money raised from the event will go to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Library chief county councillor Mike Lawrence said: "The 'girls night in' sounds like a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to relax in the company of a bestselling storyteller like Miranda Dickinson.”

Miranda, who was signed up by Avon (HarperCollins) after being discovered on Authonomy.com, is author of six Sunday Times Bestselling novels including I’ll Take New York, It Started With a Kiss and her popular debut Fairytale of New York.

Since the launch of Fairytale in 2008, the 42-year-old writer has been published in seven languages and sold three-quarters of a million books worldwide to date.

Miranda, who is also a singer/songwriter, was also "chuffed" to see her latest read I'll Take New York rated as the number one bestseller on Amazon UK on January 31.

Tickets for the 'girls' night in' event cost £3.50 (£3 for Staffordshire Libraries members) and are available by calling the library in Severn Drive on 01902 755794 or emailing perton.library@staffordshire.gov.uk
