THE February meeting was very busy. There were three new visitors, a new member and a member from the former Wall Heath Guild, who had joined.

Names were taken for those wishing to go to the St George’s Day celebration in April, and for volunteers for the federation quiz. Members were invited to bring items dear to their hearts and explain why they were so special, from a variety of things; dolls, flags, a quilt, doll’s cot, even a Meerschaum pipe.

The reasons why they were so special were not necessarily obvious, but they had a constant thread of love, family or goodness of heart running through them. The sections made plans for their next sessions, although the ramblers had to admit that they may not be able to walk if the ground was too sodden. Instead, they will have a coffee morning.

This was followed by a bring-andbuy sale. Chris Groves won the raffle prize.

The next meeting is the AGM.

Visitors and potential members are invited to join the group in the community centre on Monday with John Sparry as the speaker.
