The June meeting began when chairman Enid Fennell congratulated members on the excellent display on the Bring and Buy stall.

Members had certainly been very creative on the theme of Strawberry and Cream themed articles.

However , all that had to be put on hold until the formal necessary business was completed.

On a sad note , the recent death of former member ,Elsie Biggs was announced . Joan Graham was wished a speedy recover as she was still in hospital ‘ On a much happier note ,Ann Rogers was presented with a lovely floral arrangement to mark a significant Birthday. The quiz team were praised for coming second in the Federation quiz .They replied that they really enjoy this annual event and that more members should think about forming another team ,or even two teams.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and signed. Names were collected for the Federation Annual Lunch and Payments collected for the trip to Moreton in Marsh . There are a few places available on the boat trip in August.

Members may bring husbands and friends.

Sheila handed out the proposed venues for the luncheon club in the months before Christmas and then shocked us all by announcing details of the December meeting/ Christmas meal at The lodge.

Tea , scones cream and strawberries were then consumed following which ,Wendy Eley and Wendy Jarrett volunteered to wash up.

Kath Turner was thanked for the flowers which donated to the raffle as an extra prize.

Raffle winners were, Sandra Grey, Ena Baker and Barbara White.

Finally, having brought ,we bought, raising a useful sum for guild funds.

At the July 13 meeting the speaker will be Alan Thornton who will be telling us about “Cadburys”. The meeting will be held in Kingswinford Community centre and is open to non-members.
