AN artist who proved a hit with youngsters at this year’s British Glass Biennale is holding a temporary exhibition in Kingswinford.

Glass artist Jacque Pavlosky, whose Crystal Towers III piece was voted by under 16s to win the Young Collector’s Award, brings her unique pieces to Broadfield House Glass Museum this summer.

She returns to the area with her exhibition, Crystal Skyline: Cities of Glass, which runs until the end of September and is described a tour of imagination through mini cities made from vintage glass.

Filled with spires and towers, the sculptures are said to remind visitors of places described in fairytales, legends and even science fiction.

Her unique way of presenting and reinterpreting traditional glass was on show at the 2015 Biennale and Jacque has now prepared new pieces for the temporary exhibition.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, Dudley cabinet member for regeneration, said: “Jacque is a really talented artist, she takes these individual, and often older pieces of glass and by cleverly stacking them, transforms them into stunning cityscapes. It’s no wonder they’re such a hit with children.

“I hope that young visitors to the museum this summer have fun imagining themselves in one of Jacque’s glass cities.”

Broadfield House Glass Museum offers free entry between noon to 4pm on Tuesday to Sunday.
