PUPILS at a Kingswinford school have been encouraged to learn about the importance of global logistics by playing a specialist board game.

Glynne Primary School is one of five schools across the Black Country to have been donated the ‘Business On The Move’ game by forklift truck manufacturer Narrow Aisle Ltd.

The specially designed game challenges students to run a business that must respond to customers’ orders, moving different products to their domestic market by combinations of air, sea, rail and road quickly, profitably and environmentally responsibly.

Sue Cameron, headteacher, said: “The students are having great fun playing Business On The Move. We have found it to be a valuable resource and we are grateful to Narrow Aisle for their kind donation.”

Students must make the same decisions businesses make every day, such as how to deliver, how to make profit, how to grow and how to cut their carbon footprint.

Joanne Wilson, Narrow Aisle Ltd’s sales operations manager, said: “There is a shortage of logistics professionals at all levels in this country.

“With many well paid jobs on offer maybe some of the students who have enjoyed playing Business On The Move will go on to consider logistics as a rewarding career path when they are older.”
