RESIDENTS in Kingswinford North and Wall Heath will be heading for the polls next month after a by-election has been called.
The by-election is set to take place on February 25, alongside one that has been called for in the St James’s ward.
Natalie Neale stood down from her position as a Conservative councillor for Kingswinford North and Wall Heath last month for personal reasons.
Poll cards will be delivered to 12,000 homes over the next few days detailing information on people’s nearest polling station and how to vote.
Sarah Norman, chief executive and elections returning officer, said: “We have received requests for by-elections to be held to fill the vacant seats in the two wards.
“Information will be sent to people over the next few days and I would urge people to use their democratic right and vote.”
Ward residents have until Tuesday February 9 to register to vote, which can be done online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or by calling 01384 814740.
The Stourbridge News will keep residents up-to-date with who the candidates will be as soon as they are announced.
