WHEN most students think about what they want to get out of work experience it would usually entail a visit to a local school, newspaper or garage.

But a pair of Dudley College students – with the help of Morrisons in Kingswinford – are set for an experience like no other.

Laura Sheriff, 18, and Jake Allen, 17, have been taking part in a number of activities to help fund their African conservation working trip in South Africa.

The duo will head out on Friday March 25 and they will spend two weeks working at the Kruger National Park where they will learn about wildlife conservation.

But it wouldn’t have been possible without the kind-hearted donations from Kingswinford shoppers.

Helen Nicholls, community champion for Morrisons Kingswinford, said: “We were more than happy to support Laura and Jake on their fundraising quest.

“They came to see what we could do to help them fundraise and after a lot of bag packing they were able to raise £1,300 to go towards their work experience in South Africa.

“I would like to thank our customers on behalf of Laura and Jake for their generosity.”
