Kingswinford Townswomen's Guild.

There were fewer members present than usual at the August meeting. This may have been because people were besotted with The Olympic Games but is more likely due it being the holiday season. Sheila Watts was welcomed back from her sojourn in Devonshire ,and was soon busy telling us of venues for the next few luncheons and the details of the Christmas lunch in December. Ron Gallivan told us a lot about The Amish much of which was quite contrary to what we thought to be true .The talk was illustrated with delightful photographs. He was thanked on our behalf by Joyce Major. We were told of the plans for the harvest supper in September.

Section leaders announced forthcoming events. The federation report was read by Enid Fennell. Mavis and Doreen offered to wash up. Raffle prizes were won by Bessie Waters and Sue Wilson. Kath Turner had provided a beautiful pot plant for the chairman,s table which she kindly gave as an extra raffle prize.
