ANTIQUES Roadshow stars and glass experts Andy McConnell and Eric Knowles will be having their first look around Wordsley's brand new glass museum this week.

The pair will be guests of honour at a Friday night fundraiser on October 14 at the new 'White House Cone - Museum of Glass' where they will be heading up an evening of bonhomie and banter, talking about their six favourite pieces of glass, their interest in and knowledge of glass and their travels around the country.

The Six of the Best evening starts at 7.30pm and includes wine, fruit juice and nibbles - and will conclude with a charity auction of a glass vase by Richard Golding. The proceeds will be split between the Glass Association and the British Glass Foundation.

Andy, who lent a high-profile hand to campaigners trying to safeguard the borough's glass collection when plans to close Kingswinford's Broadfield House Glass Museum were revealed in 2009, will also be giving a 90-minute talk about Swedish Glass at the new White House Cone museum, in Camp Hill, Wordsley, which has now replaced Broadfield, as part of an all-day event.

Graham Knowles, chairman of the British Glass Foundation, and BGF trustees Graham Fisher MBE and Allister Malcolm will also be speaking at the event which is open to the public and which coincides with the Glass Association's annual general meeting.

Tickets for both events will be available on the door.
