A STAR Kingswinford dog owner and her Chihuahua cross raised the 'woof' at the Kennel Club’s ‘Eukanuba Discover Dogs’ – London’s biggest dog event.

Jean Evans and Ivy won the event’s final for small dogs during the Starters Cup competition at the capital’s ExCeL arena.

As the Kennel Club’s premier agility competition for dogs new to agility, the Starters Cup saw the top 12 large dogs together with the top six medium and six small dogs, take part in the exciting final, but only one was crowned winner in each height.

Delighted owner, Jean, who has been competing in agility for three years, said: “I’m so happy. It was a big adventure going to London and being in such a busy arena, but worth it.”

Jean and Ivy qualified for the grand final at the Kennel Club’s International Agility Festival at Rockingham Castle, in Leicestershire, during August.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club secretary said: “The Starters Cup is a fantastic competition for those handlers and their dogs who are new to agility.

“It gives us a glimpse into the future of agility and we couldn’t be happier for Ivy and Jean for winning in the small height class.

“We wish them all the luck for the future.”
