GREEN-fingered folk are being invited to go behind the scenes of a Kingswinford garden and discover the fascinating stories of hellebores in aid of charity.

Ashwood Nurseries’ owner John Massey is holding the annual ‘hellebore tour’ at his gardens this Saturday (February 18), with proceeds of the event being donated to the Beacon Centre.

The fully guided 60-minute tours, costing £2.50, take place from 10.15 am, with the last outing departing at 2.30pm.

Rachel Maiden, of Ashwood Nurseries, said: “Our guided Hellebore Tours provide a unique opportunity to discover our award-winning hellebores.

“Learn how we grow them and see our beautiful hellebore stock plants from which we collect our seed. They are quite simply stunning and demonstrate perfectly why our world-famous hellebores are regarded as some of the finest ever produced.

“With the hellebore season running a little late this year, due to the dull weather we have been experiencing, there is still lots to be seen and coming into bloom for this special day.”

Tickets do not need to be booked in advance and can be bought on the day from the advice desk in the Garden Shop.
