A POPULAR Kingswinford gift shop has reopened in memory of the former owner.

The Potting Shed Revisited opened its doors in Market Street this week in memory of Margaret Penn, who owned the original High Street shop before her death.

Tracy Reynolds will run the new store, which will sell all of the same items as The Potting Shed, with the help of husband Karl, a family friend of Margaret’s.

Karl said: “Margaret was someone who everybody loved and The Potting Shed was such a popular shop in the area.

“Tracey has been looking at getting her own business and when one of the shops became available in Market Street we thought why not buy it and reopen The Potting Shed in Margaret’s memory.

“We’ve called it The Potting Shed Revisited as we’ll be selling everything Margaret sold, including gifts, jewellery, scarves, candles and gardening goodies.”

The shop held its grand opening on Saturday (March 4), with Karl saying the pair have received a warm reception for their new venture.

He said: “We have been speaking to many local people and other traders who have said they’re really happy to see the shop back again.

“So far we’ve had nothing but a good response from people who used to visit the old shop. They think it is a great way to honour Margaret’s legacy.”
