Kingswinford Townswomen's Guild

As it is supposed to be Summer ,we have a relaxing time . however summer seems to be late in arriving this year.

Chairman Enid Fennell welcomed Elaine Skelling on second visit

After the necessary business i.e Minutes of previous meeting ,announcements of forthcoming events, collection of payments for such events, we began the serious business of the meeting . However we did spend a little time in considering the mandates that will be discussed at the National Annual General Meeting in Sheffield later this month.

The committee then served scones and strawberries and cream . Instead of tea ,we drank refreshing cold drinks.

This was followed by a Bring and Buy sale, on this occasion with a yellow and green theme. It is amazing what a variety of items were on display .The rest of the time we did something we rarely have time for in a busy meeting , we caught up on more personal matters and had time for a really good chat .

The sale yielded the sum of £40 , addition to guild funds.

Our next monthly meeting will be on July 10, when John Butterworth will tell us about "The Nurse Who Changed Guinea."Non-members are invited to join us to find out who she was and how she did it .We will be in the Community Centre at 7.30 discover the answers.
