A MAN who crashed his car into a wall in Netherton yesterday evening (July 23) had to be taken to hospital with head injuries.

The collision happened at about 8.57pm yesterday, when the man left the road and collided into a part built extension of a property in Lawnwood Road.

Following the collision, the man was taken to Russells Hall Hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, Matthew Smith, said: “We received a call at 8.57pm from the police alerting us to an incident involving car versus conservatory in Lawnwood Road, Netherton.

“We sent two crews to the scene, one from Brierley Hill and one from Haden Cross, where a private motor vehicle had left roadway and collided into a part build single story detached extension at the rear of a property.

“One male was taken to Russells Hall Hospital by the ambulance service for further assessment.

“The vehicle was made safe by fire service, which waited for the vehicle to be recovered.”

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called just after 9pm and sent an ambulance and paramedic to the scene.

“We took one male with head injuries to Russells Hall.”
