HURST Lane near Merry Hill shopping centre has been closed after a man was hit by a lorry.
When paramedics arrived at the Enterprise Trading Estate at 9.56am this morning (Wednesday), they found the pedestrian, aged 70, was suffering from a reduced level of consciousness.
He was treated for serious chest and head injuries and anaesthetised at the scene before he was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
His condition is described as stable.
The road was closed to traffic in both directions between Pedmore Road and Narrowboat Way for hours after the incident, while police carried out investigations at the scene.
