A HOST of homemade sweet treats and Easter delights will be on offer at a fundraising coffee and cake morning later this week in aid of Mary Stevens Hospice.
The event at the Day Therapies Clinic at the hospice in Hagley Road, Oldswinford, will take place on Saturday, March 16 from 10.30am until 1pm to raise funds for the charity’s continuing work.
As well as a variety of homemade cakes and sponges handmade by hospice volunteers Martin Thomas and Alan Pryce, of Mushroom Green, supporters will also be able to pick up Easter eggs, soft toys and goodies ahead of the Easter celebrations later in the month.
Martin, who has been a hospice volunteer for five years, said: “My mother died of cancer at the age of 62 and Alan had a sister in a hospice in South Africa, so we felt we wanted to help support our local hospice in some way.
“The centre is always desperately short of volunteers so people can also come and find out more about the great work they do, as well as helping to raise money by treating themselves to a cake.”
