A NETHERTON church will host a fashion show to raise funds for its community projects.

The ladies only event at Champions Church, Cinder Bank, will showcase creations from borough businesses as well as the latest fashion trends on Friday September 6.

Doors open at 6.30pm and before the catwalk show guests can get their hair styled, have a facial, mini make-over, get make-up advice, take massages and more.

Sponsoring businesses include Umberto Giannini’s, Mint nail salon and Origins make-up from Boots and boutiques, bridal shops and clothing companies will be dressing the catwalk models.

Following the show, catwalk items will be sold at auction.

All proceeds will help support a weekly soup kitchen, a community action team that helps the elderly and disabled with DIY, to raise much-needed cash for a local 'safe house' for women with life-controlling issues.

Senior Pastor Mark Burchell said: "We believe the church should be leading the way in the community by doing all we can to help people whatever their needs.

“This is our third annual event of this kind and we're expecting a great night with a spectacular catwalk show and great entertainment."

Event co-ordinator Gillian Burchell added: "These evenings are always lots of fun and the ladies have an amazing time. It’s a great way of helping address community needs, while simultaneously showcasing local business."

Tickets are available from the church or by calling 01384 457923.

A standard entrance ticket costs £5 but a VIP option is available for £15 and includes access to the VIP lounge, hot food, deserts, cocktails, preferred seating and goody-bag to take home with a professional photograph.
