FIRE crews from across the Black Country battled a severe blaze in a loft conversion at a house in Netherton.
Five crews from Stourbridge, Cradley Heath, Brierley Hill, Tipton and Woodgate Valley plus a hydraulic platform were dispatched to the incident in Craybourne Road in the early hours of this morning (Friday August 30).
Firefighters were called at 12.27am to a fire in the roof space of a two-storey semi detached house which had been converted into a bedroom.
Officers wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and main jets to fight the fire, which was out after around three hours.
A safety check using thermal imaging equipment was carried out at the scene at around 7am to ensure there was no chance of hotspots causing the fire to reignite.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said all the occupants of the house had made their way out of the building by the time firefighters arrived but he was unable to confirm the cause of the blaze.
