VOLUNTEERS are being sought to hear and determine school admissions and exclusion reviews on Dudley Council’s education appeals panel.

The panels are set up to decide on appeals for the admission of pupils from primary and secondary schools within the borough. Panels occasionally deal with reviews of governing body decisions to exclude pupils from schools.

They are completely independent and rely on voluntary membership, but appropriate training will be provided for all new members before hearing any cases.

Meetings are held during weekday mornings and afternoons – mostly at Saltwells Education Centre, Bowling Green Road, Netherton – and sometimes at the Council House, in Priory Road, Dudley.
