A MAN has been charged with robbery after two people broke into a One Stop shop in Wordsley last Thursday night (September 29).

Andrew Faux, of Campbell Street, in Brockmoor, was arrested and taken in for questioning by West Midlands Police on Friday morning (September 1).

He since appeared before Walsall Magistrates Court on Saturday (October 1), but was remanded in custody.

The 22-year-old, who is unemployed, will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday October 28 for a plea hearing.

Another man, a 22-year-old from Wordsley, who was also arrested on Friday morning but was bailed by investigators until Saturday, October 29, where he will face further police questioning.

The arrests, which included the first for a new Dudley Police student officer, were in connection to an incident which saw two masked raiders burst into the One Stop shop in Swan Lane just before 10am.

CCTV caught the raiders fleeing from the store on foot with £80 and two bottles of vodka.
