THE Black Country’s X Factor legend Wagner will be making his only Midlands appearance at a venue very close to home.

The flamboyant 54-year-old performer from Pensnett, who made it to the quarter finals of the ITV talent show, will be performing at Stourbridge’s River Rooms on Tuesday December 28.

Brazilian-born Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho, who has become a Tabloid regular since appearing on the TV talent show, will be belting out a medley of lively tracks at the Mill Race Lane venue in his own inimitable style.

Mark Ellis, owner of the River Rooms, said: “We’re very excited to be having the first live performance in the Midlands since Wagner was on the X Factor.

“Everyone at the River Rooms stopped watching when he was voted out.

“Apart from in the case of Leona Lewis, since when did you have to be a good singer to win the X Factor?”

“I think it’s just as much about personality as it’s about singing, and Wagner had the best personality by far.

“It takes guts for anyone to get up on stage and sing and he had a lot of guts and a lot of personality.”

Wagner, from Blewitt Street, told the News he’s looking forward to the gig, which is expected to sell out fast.

The exuberant crooner added: "I am working on choosing which songs to sing when at Stourbridge.

"I'm trying to guess which ones would please the audience more as all I want is to try to remind people that there is beauty and fun in our lives as music takes us to another dimension where there is happiness."
