Teen accused of schoolgirl stabbing due in court today

AN 18-year-old man is expected to enter a plea today (Friday September 23) to a charge of attempting to murder a Stourbridge teenager as she walked to school earlier this year.

Samuel Gayzer-Tomlinson, from Sedgley, is due to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court this afternoon for a plea and case management hearing.

He is accused of attempting to murder Chloe West, who was 14 at the time of the alleged attack, outside Ridgewood High School in Wollaston on April 1.

Chloe - a pupil at the Park Road West school - suffered neck, face and upper body injuries during the incident.

Gayzer-Tomlinson is also charged with wounding a schoolboy who allegedly tried to intervene, as well as possession of an offensive weapon, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
