AN 18-year-old Sedgley man has been detained in a young offenders institution for 13 years after attempting to murder a Stourbridge schoolgirl as she made her way to school.

Samuel Gayzer-Tomlinson, of Turls Hill Road, appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court this afternoon and pleaded guilty to attempting to murder Chloe West, who was 14 years-old at the time of the stabbing, outside the gates of Ridgewood High School in Wollaston on April 1.

The former Bishop Milner pupil also pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding former Ridgewood student Ben Hudson, who jumped in to help stop the attack, and guilty to possessing an offensive weapon - an eight inch kitchen knife.

Another failure by the British Judicial System, 18 years in a young offenders institution playing videos games for an 18 year MAN? if the law says he is a MAN then he should go to PRISON for 13 years. No wonder this country has gone to the dogs

13 years for pre meditated attempted murder and he will serve probably only 8 years in reality - absolute joke . This clearly deranged individual needs a life sentence so that the rest of society can be assured of their safety in the future. It's about time the punishment reflects the crime!!!!!
