A 27-YEAR-OLD Brierley Hill man has faced magistrates in Wolverhampton charged with manslaughter.

The appearance by Garret Fitzpatrick follows the death of a 26-year-old man who was killed when he was hit by a lorry in Quarry Bank.

Fitzpatrick, of Bank Street, is charged with the manslaughter of Sartaj Aziz who was struck by the vehicle in Thorns Road on August 20.

Fitzpatrick did not enter a plea to the charge and he spoke from the dock only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.

He was then remanded in custody to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court later this week (Friday).

A number of tributes to mark the death of Mr Aziz have been placed outside the Formula 1 Hand Car Wash in Thorns Road.
