RECENTLY reformed Caledonia Residents Association has been going from strength to strength.

More than 20 residents turned out to a recent litter pick and collected 27 bags of rubbish.

Chairman David Adams, who lives in Winding Mill South, said: "We only reformed last October after the previous committee resigned on mass.

"They were all in their 70s and felt it was time for some younger people to take over.

"The estate incorporates over 300 homes and everyone has been very supportive.

"We've already tackled a number of issues and have relaunched the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in addition to setting up our own Facebook page and website.

"What is especially pleasing is the number of youngsters who are keen to get involved.

"There has also been support from local councillor Mo Hanif who provided the equipment for the litter pick and arranged to have the rubbish removed. We've also had a number of new litter bins installed around the estate at strategic points."
