BORED borough youngsters can discover hidden talents about themselves by joining the Sedgley based Prince’s Trust programme.

The scheme is aimed at young people aged between 16 and 25 and offers an action packed programme that includes a week of outdoor pursuits plus volunteering in the community.

The programme starts on July 15 and provides a week’s residential where youngsters can try their hand at rock climbing and abseiling.

There’s also a two-week community project which enables the youngsters to make a difference in their local area.

Youngsters can also gain qualifications in first aid and basic food hygiene while being advised with interview skills and hints on how to write a CV.

The course is being run by officers from Sedgley Police Station and team leader PCSO Hayley Giles said: “Youngsters can learn new skills and develop their confidence which will help them progress into education and employment.

“The initiative also provides support and helps youngsters realise their potential, while at the same time developing motivation and communication skills.”
