FOUR-year-old Sedgley youngster Alfie Northall could be following in the family footsteps after his father Mark Northall took him fishing for the first time.

Alfie, from Foxmeadow Close, took to it like a fish to water and left his father flabbergasted as he repeatedly reeled in the fish at Owen Street canal in Tipton.

Proud mum Jackie said: “Alfie caught all the fish himself. He watched how his dad did it and then cast the rod out and reeled the fish in, although his dad put the bait on for him.

“He was astounded that Alfie had the patience to sit there and wait, when normally he’s a real livewire. Alfie caught far more fish than his dad.”
