A NORTH Dudley woman suspected of conning over 100 brides-to-be through an online wedding service company has been arrested.

The 30-year-old was arrested from an address in the Sedgley area following numerous complaints by disgruntled customers.

It is alleged that the online wedding goods and services site, advertised through Facebook, would take orders and payments but never deliver items.

It is also alleged when customers tried to contact the company their calls and messages were not answered.

Trading Standards and police launched an investigation after the out of pocket brides complained through Action Fraud, the new online fraud investigation service.

The woman was interviewed and has been bailed until January whilst further enquiries are made.

Investigators from the force's economic crime unit are appealing to anyone who think they may have been a victim fraud to contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
