TWO teenagers were arrested in Sedgley on suspicion of drugs offences after a Staffordshire Police operation.

At about 7.30am on Saturday (October 8), officers from South Staffs Local Policing Team (LPT) raided a premises in Gospel End Road where they discovered a cannabis cultivation set up with more than 300 plants at various stages.

Acting under Operation Nemesis, the officers executed a warrant authorised by the courts to find the stash which has a street value of around £200,000.

Two males, aged 18 and 15, were arrested from the premises and they were later released on police bail pending further investigation.

Ch Insp Giles Parsons, South Staffs LPT Commander, said: “This was a commercial set up. It was cultivation on a reasonable scale and was obviously not just meant for personal use.

“Drug dealers cause misery and blight communities. We are committed to tackling them and will prosecute wherever possible.

“I urge people living in communities affected by drug dealers to come forward and tell us about their concerns.”
