I read with interest Mr Fairburn's letter regarding naked ghosts. Many have claimed to witness ghostly apparitions and experienced hauntings in old houses. Despite these claims, no evidence has been forthcoming. It appears indicative of humans to imagine occurrences. I never hear of Stone Age or Neanderthal ghosts.
What about animals? Only cats, dogs and horses manifest themselves (man's best friends) how far down the animal order can creatures become spirits? Ghostly wasps would cause concern.
However, Mr Fairburn's naked ghost theory is very logical, but it begs the question whether teeth, nails and hair can become ghostly as we regularly dispose of those parts of the body.
What about people like me who have had hip replacements? If we appeared as ghosts, would our legs disengage from the rest of our bodies, as according the Mr Fairburn, our inanimate joints cannot qualify to become spirit.
The mind boggles!
