Cyclists who ride their bikes in Dudley borough are invited to join a group that discusses cycling issues.

Dudley Cycle Forum, which is run by Dudley Council, will hold its first meeting of 2013 on Monday 14 January at the Dell Stadium in Brierley Hill from 6 to 7.30pm.

The forum is open to anyone with an interest in cycling and it meets four times a year to discuss cycling in the borough as well as council proposals and strategies that relate to active travel.

Attended by elected members and senior council officers, the forum also encourages debate on wider issues such as, education, training and promotion of cycling and whether roads and cycle paths are fit for purpose.

Members of the public are welcome to join the forum and can register by emailing rsafety.due@dudley.gov.uk or by calling 01384 815433.

Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for transport, said:

“There are a number of cycling initiatives taking place in the borough at the moment and we are keen to engage with local cyclists and other interested parties to see what’s important to them.

“The cycle forum is a great way to get involved and find out what’s going on in Dudley borough and I hope lots of people will come along and have their say on this important topic.”
