The Mayor of Dudley is set to visit the international exhibition of 21st century lace at the Red House Glass Cone in Wordsley.

The international lace festival features creations from across the world including three-dimensional items, fans and a range of bracelets, buttons and broaches.

Councillor Alan Finch, the Mayor of Dudley will be heading to the glass cone tomorrow (May 31), ahead of the main exhibition opening on Saturday (June 1) to see the collections for himself.

The exhibition will showcase work by skilled lace makers who have taken part in the Amblecote-based Lace guild’s 2013 international competition, entries from young lace makers and group entries.

Councillor Alan Finch, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“I’m looking forward to attending the exhibition ahead of the opening to the general public. The exhibition will showcase some of the finest lace making talent and I am pleased to see it being exhibited in one of our attractions.”

Contrasts will run from June 1 until July 27 at The Red House Glass Cone, High Street, Wordsley.

During his year in offer, Councillor Finch has announced he will help two charities which are Cancer Support, The White House, Dudley, and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
