Around 24,000 people turned out to enjoy the Himley Hall and Park Bonfire on Saturday.

The annual event, which is organised by Dudley Council was sponsored by Tesco Stourbridge, and had an ‘out of this world’ theme.

Sci-fi music from Dr Who, Star Trek, Flash Gordon, Iron Man and much more set the scene to the park’s impressive fireworks display, which lit up the night sky.

The giant bonfire roared into the night while people enjoyed the Thomas Jones’ giant funfair and seasonal refreshments were also on offer.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:

“This year’s bonfire was truly out of this world and it is thanks to the hard work of all involved that it was such a big success.

“I am delighted that we had such a good turnout and hope that everyone who came enjoyed the impressive fireworks in the clear autumn sky.”
