A couple looking to say ‘I do’ will be in luck this week when a free wedding will be on offer at Priory Hall’s open day.

Dudley Council is offering one lucky couple the chance to win a wedding at the hugely popular venue through a free prize draw being held at the open day event on Saturday March 15.

Couples will be able to put their names into a box to win a wedding, valued at £320.  The draw will be made by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Alan Finch, at 3pm at Priory Hall.

Any couples who have already booked their day will have the fee waived and couples who have not booked will be offered the free wedding. The winning couple will only be required to pay the statutory notice fee of £35 each at their local register office.

Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for human resources, law and governance, said:

“Our wedding open day attracts couples from across the borough eager to visit our beautiful Priory Hall venue, pick up tips and get inspiration for their big day.  And each year one lucky couple goes home with more than just information, but also a free wedding at our grade II-Iisted venue.”

Information on ceremony cars, wedding cakes, balloons, photographers, bridal wear, suit hire, flowers and much more will be on offer from the various exhibitors at the event.

Plus, for the first time, bargain hunters can purchase once-worn designer and off-the-peg bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride and page boy clothes.  Approximately 60 outfits, are available.  They will be sold at the popular nuptials event, as part of the register office’s new I-do-2 offer.

In addition, couples will re-create marriage ceremonies at the venue and fashion shows will be held throughout the day. Registrars will also be on hand to answer questions and offer help and advice.

The grade II-listed Priory Hall registration office will open its doors from 10am to 4pm to give people the chance to view the venue and its surroundings in Priory Park. The park features the old Priory ruins and is overlooked by Dudley Castle. For more information call 01384 815373.
