UP-and-coming entrepreneurs at a Halesowen school are top of the class after scooping first and second place in an enterprise challenge.

Eighteen team from nine primary schools in the town took part in the Apprentice-style event at Windsor Business Centre with top honours going to Caslon.

The boys’ team came first with the girls picking up second place just one point behind in their zone.

The teams were split into four zones, with Olive Hill, Cradley CE and Hasbury schools also scooping first places.

The challenge was for them to plan a new moon colony from scratch, from deciding how to spend the budget, to what type of professional people to take to this new world.

The teams had to allocate roles within the group, show leadership and team working skills and present their proposals to business people who marked them on their project and presenting.

Year five Caslon pupil Shakiel Bloomer said: "I can`t believe we won. Look out for me I`m the next Alan Sugar.”
