A TV antiques expert is holding a valuation day at the Bromsgrove-based headquarters of a national charity.

Antiques lovers are being invited to the valuation day at the Stroke Association's Life After Stroke Centre, in Church Lane, on Wednesday, September 17.

In the style of the much-loved BBC show, residents can dust off their antiques and bring them along to be valuated on the day.

One of the valuers on the day will be Nick Davies, known for his appearances on BBC One's Flog It! programme.

The event, being held in partnership with Fieldings Auctioneers, is being held from 10am to 2pm.

There will be refreshments on the day.

Residents attending are asked to donate a £1 for each item they bring to the charity, and there is a limit of four items per person.

Claire Benfield, regional fundraiser at Stroke Association in the West Midlands, said: “The valuation day promises to be quite an event.

"We are encouraging residents to come along, seek out those treasures from their homes, and let our team of valuers including Nick Davies, valuate them in the hope we can find a million, or even billion pound piece.

"Whether its artwork, watches or ornaments please do bring them along on the day.

"It will be a fantastic way to do something a little bit special for charity - everyone taking part will be helping raise funds for stroke survivors, their families and carers.”

Nick said: “I’m thrilled to be invited to the Life after Stroke Centre in Bromsgrove to meet the community, and get to valuate the interesting antiques they have.

"Five years ago my father-in-law had a devastating stroke, so I know the impact stroke can have on someone’s life.

"I’m really happy to be supporting the Stroke Association who is there for stroke survivors.

"Please do come along and bring your antiques, and I will look forward to valuating them.”
