A HEREFORDSHIRE-based business consultancy has agreed the sale of its landmark venue.

A private buyer has taken over The Leadership Trust's iconic Penyard House, near Ross-on-Wye, in a move which the business hopes will see it build its profile as a business, training, conference and premium wedding venue.

With Penyard House's business expanding, it was decided that a new owner would help take the Leadership Trust – which provides development and leadership development courses for business leaders and managers – to the next level.

Rob Noble, chief executive of the Leadership Trust, said: "We're delighted that we have successfully completed the sale of Penyard House, and secured continued use of the venue for our delegates going forward. We see this as an opportunity to re-focus our time and effort on core activity, creating leadership programmes to nurture leaders in all sectors."

The Leadership Trust helps organisations, individuals and teams in the UK and worldwide learn, develop and improve leadership skills.

It will remain based at the building.

Founded by David Gilbert-Smith a former member of the Special Air Service in 1975, the Trust took the development of leadership in high performance teams in the military and applied it to all sectors.

Notable clients who have used Penyard House include Caffè Nero, Kwik-Fit, ARM, DuPont, the GB Women's Hockey Team – which secured a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics – and Team Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
