REDDITCH Heart Safe has thanked Slimming World consultant Carron Edmundson and all her members for their kind support and generosity.
Over a six week period, 250 members of Batchley, Church Hill and Ipsley Slimming World groups have shed a staggering 1,722.5lbs as part of a sponsored charity challenge. As a result of their efforts £1,181 was raised.
Robert Underwood, who founded the Heart Safe charity with his partner Maggie following the death of their daughter Charlotte, said: "We are overwhelmed by the total amount raised which has enabled our charity to purchase another lifesaving IPAD SP1 defibrillator and donate it to Batchley First School in Redditch.
"Staff have now been familiarised with the use of the defibrillator, but it is hoped that it will never be used."
Anyone who would like to donate or help fundraise can get in touch with Redditch Heart Safe by calling 07794637073, emailing info@redditchheartsafe.com or visiting redditchheartsafe.com and using the donate button.
The charity would also like to hear from any sports clubs, gyms, work places or schools in the Redditch area that could benefit from a defibrillator.
