WORK to expand the southern link road at the Ketch roundabout is to stop for the Christmas break to allow holiday traffic to flow.

Worcestershire County Council's multi-million pound investment into the southern link road will take a short break, before continuing with the latest phase of the Ketch roundabout.

Contractors, Griffith will cease work on Friday (December 19) until Monday, January 5, for their Christmas break.

Councillor Simon Geraghty, deputy leader and cabinet member for economy, skills and infrastructure said: "The work on the Ketch roundabout and the southern link road are progressing well and we are trying to ensure that any disruption to traffic and road users is kept to a minimum. The break in work should help keep people moving around Worcester during the Christmas period."

On their return, the contractors hope to change the traffic management on the roundabout, closing the slip road currently running from the A4440 to the A38 and open the newly created junction approach to the side of the pylon running from the A38 into A4440 eastbound.
