A FRUSTRATED motorist has complained of “massive traffic jams” in Warndon this morning caused by temporary traffic lights.

Eldin Rammell, of Worcester, wrote on Your Worcester NewsFacebook page to advise other motorists to avoid the area or face long delays to their journeys.

The temporary traffic lights are in place on Blackpole Road and Cotswold Way to allow for excavations and will remain until Friday (January 30), according to roadworks.org.

Western Power Distribution is attempting to locate and repair a high-voltage cable fault in the area.

Eldin Rammell wrote at 8.47am: “Massive traffic jam on Cotswold Way in Warndon - delays up to half an hour.

At 9.04am he added: “I'd advise avoiding Warndon area this morning.

“Temporary lights at Blackpole Road and Cotswold Way are causing major congestion.

“It took 35 minutes to get up Cotswold Way. Huge queues all round this area right up into Fernhill Heath and across to the motorway - huge queues on the A449 too.”
